Well, 2008 was an up and down year, with both natural disasters and a heavily discussed financial disaster. 2009 will surely be a challenging year, as the financial situation takes a turn for the worse and affects a lot more people. As we head into the new year, do take the opportunity to look at your disaster preparations. It’s a good time to check the batteries in your backup flashlights, and to check the expiry dates for your food and medicine supplies.
I hope that 2008 will be all that you want to be. One thing for sure : disasters, natural or otherwise, are happening at an ever increasing rate. Make sure that your family is safe, and don’t forget to check your emergency preparedness supplies. It’s a good time to change the batteries on your EDC (every day carry) flashlights as well as the various lights that you have stashed away. Have a good one!

This was a very difficult post to write. This website was started two years ago out of my growing interest in the topics of urban survival and emergency preparedness. To this day, the aim of Survival Today is still very clear : to educate and raise awareness for the importance of being prepared for all manners of emergencies and disasters.
