If you’ve been following the news lately, you’d know that there’s around 50 wildfires in various parts of the US. As part of their Crisis Response Platform, Google has developed the 2012 US Wildfire Crisis Map. The data is compiled from various sources, including the U.S. Geological Survey, InciWeb, shelter information from the Red Cross, satellite info from DigitalGlobe, fire weather information from NOAA’s Storm Prediction Center, local-level data from the State of Colorado Division of Emergency Management, and Utah Division of Emergency Management.
