Video: Ray Mears demonstrates value of first aid kit

Ray Mears is one of the most knowledgeable survival experts out there. He’s probably best known as being a master in bushcraft and outdoor survival. In this video, Ray demonstrates the value of a first aid kit (beyond just healing).

Don’t forget to regularly check your first aid kit. Once every 6 months, do an inventory, check the expiry dates for any medicines and refill or replace items which have been used.

    Re your question of smoke following, I like to use a tall, V-shaped reflector, generally of rock, behind the fire.  It serves as a chimney as well, and it channels the smoke up high enough that it misses you, even if it comes in your direction.
