UK floods 2007

Heavy, unseasonal rains brought flooding to large areas in England and Wales over last weekend and continuing this week. The crisis has highlighted the lack of preparedness both from the people and from the local councils and government.

The floods have affected not only rural areas, but are beginning to affect larger cities such as Oxford and London. At this moment, 350,000 people do not have access to fresh water.

Wherever in the world you are, it pays to do a little bit of preparation. Uncertain weather is a global phenomenon, and it seems to be getting worse.
