The Department of Homeland Security’s Ready.gov emergency preparedness website was updated last month, with a new look and updated information. However, some of the information is still incorrect and incomplete, with repetitive information and not-so-useful generic advice. The Federation of American Scientists took it upon themselves to create a better Ready.org. ReallyReady.org follows the look and feel of the official website, with the following objectives :
1. To provide clear and correct information to citizens interested in preparing themselves and their families for an emergency
2. To persuade the Department of Homeland Security to take a serious look at Ready.gov and their policy on the accuracy of information and to make important changes that will help Americans to prepare for terrorist attacks or natural disasters.

Look through both sites to compare the quality of information. When it comes to free advice, it pays to do your homework.
